Master AI's Voice with a Simple Trick

ChatGPT writes like a stuffy professor. But there's an easy way to loosen its tie.
Here's the secret: most prompts don't work that well. You ask for a casual email, and ChatGPT still sounds like it swallowed a textbook.
The solution? Use the "dial" trick.

First, get ChatGPT to rate its writing on a 1-10 scale, like "1 is super casual, 10 is very formal." It'll give you a number, say 7.
Then simply ask it to rewrite at your desired level, like 3. Boom - you'll get the chill, casual tone you wanted.
For example, here's how I'd make a formal ChatGPT email more casual:
"Thank you for asking about our SEO services. Our team uses great strategies..."
Boring. I ask ChatGPT to rate that formality on a 1-10 scale. It says 7.
So I say "rewrite that at a 3 - nice and casual."
And it rewrites it like:
"Hey! Saw you want SEO help. No worries, my crew will boost your site rankings."
See? The lever trick puts you in control. No more fighting to get ChatGPT's tone right.
But it’s not just about the tone of writing!
You can use this trick to adjust the style of any output.
Here is an example of planning a one-day trip to NYC:
“1. Explore Central Park: Start the day with a jog or leisurely stroll through Central Park. You can rent a bike, have a picnic, or simply enjoy the scenery.
2. Visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art: Spend a few hours exploring the vast collection of art at the Met. From ancient artifacts to modern masterpieces, there's something for every art enthusiast…”
And after “dialing” the creativity up:
“1. Street Art Exploration in Bushwick: Head to the Bushwick neighborhood in Brooklyn, known for its vibrant street art scene. Spend the day exploring colorful murals, graffiti, and art installations hidden throughout the streets and alleys.
2. Underground Speakeasy Bar Crawl: Dive into NYC's rich history of prohibition-era speakeasies by embarking on an underground bar crawl. Discover hidden cocktail bars with secret entrances, themed décor, and expert mixologists crafting inventive drinks…”
