🏴‍☠️ My 7 Prompt Tips

Turn AI into sparks

I’ve seen it, you’ve seen it: the endless stream of AI content that sounds exactly the same. It’s generic, a little boring, and totally misses the mark. For a while, I thought that was just the limit of the tech, but I was wrong. The problem wasn’t the AI, it was how I was talking to it.

After tons of experimenting, I’ve landed on 7 pro tips that have completely transformed my prompts into a secret weapon for creating awesome, original content. This isn’t your average playbook, this is what I do to get results that actually feel human.

My Go-To Prompting Framework

Here’s the breakdown of how I get the AI to go from a simple tool to a creative powerhouse.

1. Set the Stage Like a Director

I never just ask for something cold. First, I paint a vivid picture for the AI, giving it the full context. I explain who I am, what the goal is, and who we’re talking to. It’s the difference between asking a stranger for directions and asking a local guide who knows the best routes.

My Pro Move: “I’m a YouTuber planning a video on AI trends. My audience is made up of tech newbies, so explain this simply.”

2. Demand Precision Output

I learned this one the hard way. Vague prompts get vague results, every single time. Now, I tell the AI exactly what I need it to produce. I specify the format, the style, the length, and the vibe I’m going for. Being demanding here saves me so much editing time later.

My Pro Move: “Generate a 200-word script for a TikTok video. The tone needs to be conversational and punchy.”

3. Ditch the Fluff

Broad prompts like “Make me content” are a total creativity killer. It’s like asking a chef to “make food.” You’ll get something, but it won’t be what you wanted. I get laser-focused with my requests to get pure gold back.

My Pro Move: Instead of “Help with marketing,” I’ll say, “Draft 5 unique Instagram captions for a new fitness app launch.”

4. Guide the AI Like a GPS

For anything complex, I don’t give the AI one massive task. I break it down into clear, sequential steps. This creates a much smoother workflow and gives me more control over each part of the output. It’s like building with LEGOs, one piece at a time.

My Pro Move: “Step 1: Summarize this attached blog post. Step 2: Turn that summary into 3 distinct tweet threads.”

5. Spark Ideas with Examples

Sometimes, abstract ideas are hard for the AI to work with. To fix this, I ask it for real-world applications or examples. This has been a game-changer for me when creating tutorials or sales pitches, as it makes everything feel more concrete and actionable.

My Pro Move: “Show me 3 ways AI can streamline a freelancer’s invoicing process, with practical examples for each.”

6. Pick Your Format, Own the Output

I always think about where my content will live before I even write the prompt. Whether I need a list, a script, a table, or a thread, I tell the AI exactly how to package the information for maximum impact. Presentation matters.

My Pro Move: “Organize these 10 productivity tips into a bullet-pointed checklist that I can copy directly into Notion.”

7. Give the AI a Persona

This might be my favorite tip. I assign the AI a role to give its output more flavor and expertise. It’s like instantly hiring a world-class specialist for any project, and it completely changes the quality of the response.

My Pro Move: “Act as a viral content strategist and suggest 5 powerful hooks for a LinkedIn post about personal branding.”

My Bonus Hack: Your Creative Co-Founder

I stopped treating AI like a vending machine where I put in a prompt and get a finished product. Instead, I treat it like my creative co-founder. I iterate, tweak, and refine my prompts constantly. The first output is just the starting point. Better inputs create content that truly stands out.

Start using these today, and I promise you’ll see your AI become the productivity beast you always wanted for your creative hustle.
